FAQ & SUPPORT
A magical guide to help you along your purchasing journey.
CARE GUIDE
TL;DR: don't use heat. Seriously. The fibres will shirnk if blasted with heat, and your design will warp. You won't be happy, Jan!
What do those laundry symbols on my swing tag mean?
Alrighty, let's break it down before you break down.
In order from left to right:
- Delicate cold wash only (30°c and below).
- Do not tumble dry.
- Do not Iron (if you must iron, do NOT iron the embroidery directly — iron the garment inside out).
- Do not use bleach or harsh chemicals.
- Do not dry clean.
We wrote you a short poem.
Roses are red.
Violets are blue.
Follow the care instructions.
Because if you don’t, we won’t refund you ❤️.
Any other tips?
We recommend turning your garment inside out to protect the embroidery when it’s in your washing machine. The embroidery is made up of thousands of stitches of thread and we’d hate for it to get snagged on something in the wash. Also, if we’re believing big washing machine propaganda (we are), we should also tell you that you should probably wash like colours together.

We sure do. If you sign up to our mailing list (sign up at bottom of this page) you'll be informed of any promotions and new and returning designs.
Any valid discount code works with free shipping so you can get the best of both worlds... chill it out, take it slow (and check out please).
Do you have free shipping?
Missed all the other banners before you got here? Free shipping Australia-wide baby!
But seriously, if you didn't know before you got here that there's free shipping then let us know so we can kick the marketing guy. It's me. I'm the marketing guy.

How long until I receive my order?
We're just as impatient as you are, which is why we get to work immediately. Your order will be processed and given to Australia Post within 2 business days.
We're based in Perth, WA. Logically, the closer you are, the faster it arrives — but we've all seen how logistics actually works.
Allow 5-10 business days to receive your order. Check the Australia Post website/app to track your delivery. Or don't. We don't control you. If you have any issues or queries, you can contact us at hello@popvulture.com.au.
*Occasionally, we're waiting on fresh stock to arrive. If there's a delay, we'll keep you updated.
Why isn't express shipping an option?
This is an intentional choice. To completely misquote Mean Girls, "The environment, duh." Express shipping has a very high environmental cost and when we consider the value it provides versus the environmental impact, it just doesn't stack up. It's only a few extra days for you to receive your order with standard shipping and it is miles better for the world. It's worth the wait, we promise!
Can I cancel my order?
We know mistakes happen or that you might suddenly get a moment of financial clarity! We might be vultures, but we’re not assholes. If you’ve ordered the wrong size or changed your mind, please email us immediately at hello@popvulture.com.au.
- Before posting: If we haven’t sent your order yet, we can cancel it and issue a full refund.
- After posting: Once your order is with the courier, we cannot cancel or intercept it. You will need to follow our 14-day return process once your package arrives.

RETURNS
TL;DR: Return within 14 days in "as-new" condition (no makeup tutorials or pet hair, please!); shipping is on us for faulty goods.
Can I change my mind and return my order?
If something isn’t quite right, you have 14 days from the date of delivery to return it for a refund to your original payment method, less a 20% restocking fee. As a small business, this fee is essential to help cover costs associated with returning your order.
Return Conditions: To be eligible for a return, your item(s) must be in "as-new" condition:
- Unworn & Unwashed: Items must not have been worn (beyond a quick try-on), washed, or altered.
- Original Packaging: Items must be returned in their original packaging with all tags and labels attached.
- Cleanliness: Items must be free of makeup, perfume, deodorant marks, or pet hair. If it smells like a nightclub or your cats, we will post it right back to you.
Note: We reserve the right to refuse a return if the item is returned in a condition that prevents it from being resold. No makeup tutorials wearing your item if you intend to return it.
For more information, including your consumer rights, faulty goods returns and the legal mumbo jumbo, check out the full Returns & Refund Policy.
Who pays for return shipping?
- Change of Mind: Your responsibility.
- Faulty/Damaged: Our responsibility.
Cool cool.
Products
TL;DR: 100% organic cotton, embroidered with 100% recycled thread. Softer than your ex-boyfriend on his anti-depressants; but unlike him, our premium stitches won't irritate you.
What are your garments made out of?
We use 100% certified-organic cotton for all our garments. Organic means zero pesticides, zero chemicals, and zero nonsense during production. It's 100% natural, light, breathable and cloud-like... unlike your boss's personality.
The thread we embroider with is 100% recycled polyester. Why not cotton thread? Science. While your hoodie is a masterpiece of organic botany, cotton embroidery thread is — to put it scientifically — a liability. It cannot withstand the pressure of being stitched onto clothing, and even if it does, it won't look that good for very long. It snaps, it frays, and honestly? What's the point if it doesn't last?
The good news? The good news is um. Um. Ummmm. Oh yeah! Recycled thread means less plastic in the ocean and landfill. You’re welcome turtles 🐢.
Can I feel the design when wearing my garment?
Yes, you can feel the design. Machine embroidery stitches thousands of tiny threads into the fabric, giving a tactile feel to our products.
The embroidery is not a fidget toy. Don't go picking at the threads when you're bored in your Teams call. If you pull or play with it, it may break. If it breaks, you will cry. Don't say we didn't warn you.
We use a soft, but firm, stabilising later on the inside of the garment. This creates a barrier between the embroidery and your skin to prevent irritation. This also helps set the stitches in place, helping the embroidery to withstand the chaos of daily living.
GENERAL
TL;DR: Our supply chain is cleaner than our search history. We have zero soulless shareholders, use compostable packaging materials, and source our blanks from an ethical and sustainable Australian company. Our purpose is to make fun, unhinged designs that last; unlike the fast-fashion garbage flooding your feeds.
Who are your suppliers?
If we told you, we’d have to kill you. For legal reasons we’re just kidding. Damn, there’s a lot of legal disclaimers on this website. Welcome to the litigious society we live in!
Time for some real talk.
We've carefully vetted every business that we engage with, right down to who we bank with and who we buy our stickers from.
- The financial institution we bank with is an Australian community bank that does not invest in or provide banking services for the fossil fuel or logging industries. They’re a bank that aims to be better and give back. In fact, they've put almost half a billion (with a b!) dollars back into the community.
- The incredible supplier of our blank 100% organic cotton garments is an Australian-owned and operated company. They have an incredibly transparent and verifiable supply chain. No slave labour, with all workers paid meaningfully above minimum worked and with significantly improved working conditions. They also strive to be more sustainable and ethical throughout their business operations.
- We source our compostable mailers and stickers from a Certified B Corporation. What does this mean? It means they have been verified to meet very high standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. They must balance profit with purpose to benefit everyone (people and planet!).
- All of our embroidery thread comes from Madeira. They are the leader in embroidery thread quality and are completely phasing out using virgin plastic in their thread. We're proud to use their threads, specifically their outstanding 100% recycled POLYNEON Green thread!
How is POP VULTURE different?
POP VULTURE is different for so many reasons. So many in fact, we couldn't possibly list all the reasons. But we'll list the most important ones to us:
- We only use 100% GOTS-certified organic cotton fabric.
- Every design is embroidered with 100% recycled thread.
- Australian-owned and operated.
- Conscious decisions around who we use as suppliers and who we partner with.
- No scum-sucking corporate shareholders.
We're proud of who we are and what we stand for. We stand firmly against the fast fashion industry and want to create products that are relatable, designed to last, and bring joy, deranged or not, to your life. We're not perfect, but we're serious about getting better every day and with every purchase. If you have any suggestions on how we can improve, we're open to feedback: hello@popvulture.com.au.
Do you use Generative AI?
Every image, product description, icon, marketing etc has been created by a human.
That said, as a small business we have limited resources available. We use Generative AI tools to help code our emails and a few minor parts on the website. POP VULTURE believes that Artificial Intelligence has a place as a productivity tool, but should not ever be a tool to replace human creativity. We use AI tools to code the technical structure of our emails and again, a few minor parts on the website, but we do not use it to generate the front-end content inside it.
And remember folks — the em dash is something that has existed for many years before ChatGPT!!
I thought this was supposed to be the most advanced security system on the planet?
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡° )
